Took about 11months of constant experimentation to get it right. Keto formulas by renowned keto researchers doesn’t work for everyone because of too many factors like Gut Microbiome, genetic ancestry, digestion rates, glycemic response etc. but everyone just needs to try different things and most importantly use testing and logging! I am still exploring and testing with those keto-friendly ingredients and for recipe, I often watch video of “headbanger’s kitchen” and “keto connect” for ideas! I tried the “keto bread” by “keto connect”, they turned out great and goes very well with the jam! I made my own peanut butter too (without any sugar), carbs are pretty low compare to store bought. For seeds and nuts I recommend you guys to pay a visit to “the hive bulk” located at jalan telawi, bangsar, they sell variety of nuts and seeds with reasonable price, and also organice condiments. Signature Market is a good online store to shop too (they are giving 3 months free membership + high discount). For avocado, I find that Jaya Grocer sells at pretty good deal (3 in 1 pack for rm12.90, the one at Intermark). I am just wondering where can I get cheaper salmon, the one I bought at morning market sri rampai costed me rm19 for just one slice! Btw, I am going to try making cauliflower chicken rice and flaxseed crackers too 🙂
The best part about this bread is that it makes it so much easier to eat a low carb diet. Yes, there are some savage beasts (joking) that don’t miss bread at all and are happy to just eat bacon seven times a day, but if you’re anything like me, bread was a staple of your diet growing up and you still have a look of yearning in your eyes when they drop that bread basket in the middle of the table at family dinner. This recipe is perfect. I did half a batch and made six rolls. I used the correct amount of almond flour simply because I didn’t have the nuts in my pantry. These rolls are perfect and moist. I also added some pieces of chopped apple as a treat because it’s apple season and my goal was low carb not Keto. I’m so happy I found this recipe. With winter coming this will be a great treat.

I have not tried this yet. It could work, if you baked it for longer. The only thing I’m worried is that it might not rise as much because of the extra weight. I might be wrong, but I don’t want you to be upset about waisting expensive ingredients. There’s someone who commented about doubling the recipe on october 25th 2018 – but it sounds that she might have used 2 pans instead … here’s the comment: “I just made this. I doubled the recipe and used long narrow Wilton pans. I used carton egg whites. I baked it for 45 minutes, turned the oven off and left it closed for 30 minutes. Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! I now have 21 slices of bread in the fridge to experiment with. (That means I already ate 3)”

Hi Mark, the nutrition box states 1 serving (slice) out of 12. SO, if you wanted to calculate the nutrition for the entire bread, you’d just have to multiply it by 12. I’m sorry, but I did not weigh the bread so I cannot give you the nutrition per 100 g. There’s a good (free) nutrition calculator on the website sparkrecipes.com that you can use. Or download the KetoDietApp, it also has a good one. Glad you like the bread though!

I just started the keto diet and being Malaysian like you its so hard to give up the good ol Malaysian carb laden food like the karipap(which is my fav). So stumbling on to your blog is heaven sent. I am so going to try this karipap out. Thank you for making this keto friendly. Im gonna keep following your blog to see if you manage to ketofy(is this even a legit word…lol) any more Malaysian food.
