Hi Suraya…..stumble on yr site while surfing for healthy oils as i make my own oils namely coconut, peanut, sunflower and flaxseed….own consumption and selling to close relatives and friends. Since my husband’s episode of ” heart attack” few years ago, i’ve started realizing that our staple diet among malaysians are full of sugars, fast food and carbs. The more i research the more I’ve come to realize that the main ingredients are so full of preservatives, colorings and additives….This keto diet that i’ve come across so frequently nowdays has made me thinking of trying it but with the mentality especially for asians….rice and flour is a must have on our dinner tables including my husband….i can only wonder.

The texture of this pound cake is very dense and rich. I don’t doubt that you’d be able to easily fool someone who is not following a keto diet plan. It tastes just like a flour based pound cake. It’s sweet enough without being overly sweet. If you want to add some more sweetness to the loaf, I’d suggest a very small amount of stevia instead of adding more erythritol.

Beating the egg whites is the answer to the denseness that comes with making an almond flour bread. I’ve made countless baked goods using almond flour and the main problem I’ve encountered is how dense the finished product is. The fluffy egg whites in unison with the high dosage of baking powder do a good job of getting this loaf nice and fluffy and adding some air pockets into the loaf. This makes for a better tasting bread.
This recipe works really well and seems to be pretty versatile. I always have chia seeds so I subbed those for the psyllium husk. Then husband asked if I could make cheese and onion bread so I threw some dried, diced onion and cheese cubes in it. He was very happy, it still baked up nicely and, most importantly, husband liked it. Thanks for posting.

How can you tell if you have high uric acid

Oh another think I thought I might mention. I use store bought coconut cream as a substitute to any recipe that calls for whipping/heavy cream. The ones from pasar are too liquid, doesn’t whip up. I do have to give generous amounts of garlic (or flavouring in case it’s a sweet dish) to get rid of the coconut taste/smell. But apart from that it works as good as heavy cream at half the price.
just to share with you that i normally buy my cheese, butter, almond flour, nuts…from bakery ingredients shops that are selling much more cheaper than retail shops and supermarket. eg. i get raw almond and almond flour around RM39-41/kg, walnut around the same price. mozzarella RM50+/2kg block, cheddar RM70+/2kg block, cooking cream RM5/pack, while coconut flour RM12+ at Aeon….while i travel in eastern Europe, i’ll buy MCT oil and coconut oil which is ridiculously cheaper than Malaysia, eg, pure MCT oil is selling RM30+/400ml while the one i found in KL is selling RM60+ 300ml and VCO is RM20+/1l while RM60+ in Malaysia. also, in Eastern Europe, animal fats are easily available and cheap, if you happened to travel here you can pack some home.

How many eggs can I eat a day to lose weight

Took about 11months of constant experimentation to get it right. Keto formulas by renowned keto researchers doesn’t work for everyone because of too many factors like Gut Microbiome, genetic ancestry, digestion rates, glycemic response etc. but everyone just needs to try different things and most importantly use testing and logging! Very important to have a Glucose and Ketone tester!

Curry puffs or as we call it, Karipap is a comfort food for Malaysians. Well, any Malaysian food is comfort food to us. 🙂 Karipap is also known as epok-epok and is quite similar to Empanadas. Karipap is a dough stuffed with dry curried minced meat or sardines and then fried. Some add a quarter of a hard boiled egg in it. On a regular day, I would make Karipap using ready made puff pastry as I don’t have a good hand with dough ( I always over handle it). 4.) Fill the dough into a loaf tin lined with baking paper. If you don’t use a silicone loaf pan line ALL SIDES with parchment paper so the bread will release easily. Smooth the top, but don’t press down too much – keep as much air in the dough as possible. Bake at 180 Celsius / 350 Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean!

This looks so good! I’m new to Keto/low carb so I have a question: I don’t have straight erythritol. I have stevia, Swerve granular and confectioner, xylitol and Lakanto classic (monkfruit/erythritol combo). Can any of these be used in place of the erythritol in your recipe, and if so, which is best, and is the amount the same or does it need adjustments? Thank you so much!
